As for the study of culture is to pay attention to aspects of political-economy and methodology of empiricism in ethnography. For the media political economy approach which tends to see from one side the production and distribution of media, the approach can be improved by adding one side ie the consumption by the audience by paying attention to the freedom of the audience in interpreting. Given these things both approaches can learn from each other to enrich their own foreign approach. Two groups of critical approaches namely the political economy of media and cultural studies have similarities, advantages and disadvantages. This condition can be a challenge for mass media researchers to develop concepts that make it possible to understand the symptoms well.
